Home for the Holidays.

Touching down on the mainland for the first time in four months was one of the happiest feelings I have ever had. Now dont get me wrong, I love love love Hawaii, but it's something about being home and on the east coast that just makes me light up. Even though I spent most of life in the south, I started it in New Jersey, and I have spent the last 5 years in Connecticut.
Peter and I watched movies, and slept, and I finished reading Reached. My mom and Dad picked us up from the airport and we were on our way home. First order of business... see my dog. Second order of business... sleep. Then to follow, rummage through my fridge, use my own bathroom and get ready for a sunday in my home ward. Seeing everyone was amazing!
As the week went on it just got better and better. I hung out with my friends on tuesday. Seeing Zach and Nick was great. I missed them like crazy. We prank called my roommate and it wasn't until the whole room was laughing that I dont know what I would do with these kids in my life. I went shopping with chloe and got some of the cutest things on sale at J. Crew. But the party didnt start until thursday. Vanessa came home! And boy did we party! We planned this giant party on thursday but nobody responded to coming so we thought it was going to be a dud. We started cooking at 4:30 on Friday and the party was at 8:30. We were more than surprised when almost every person we invited had showed up! We probably had over 30 people there. We had a hot chocolate bar, delicious chocolate cake, and pretzels dipped in homemade carmel, chocolate, and sprinkled with peppermint candy canes. This party was also a white elephant party and ugly christmas sweater party. It was a blast!
The traditions were starting and we knew it was christmas time. My brothers and dad had gotten a new TV because our previous one was getting old so we rearranged the basement and it looks great! Just in time for our christmas eve party. On christmas eve as usual we went to chinese food. It was so good and just what I needed. Then we started cooking mexican food and went to God's acre for the christmas caroling. We partied and preformed our skits. Here is what the kids in my family did.
Yeah I know we are pretty hilarious.
Christmas day was Fun, my mom got all the kids fluffy bathrobes with our house cup on them so we could all have house robes. Mine has the Gryffindor insignia on it. On christmas day we went to see Les Miserable. It was soooooo good! Caity had a fake labor scare while we were in the theater and thought she was going into labor. But she wasnt. The day after christmas peter, brad, my dad and I went into the city for a day of fun. It started snowing and got super rainy and cold. We went on the intrepid and to the new york city public library. It was brads birthday on the 27th and we had a rainbow cake for  him! We had to got california for my grandmas 80th birthday so I left home a little sooner than I had hoped. I had one last goodbye and nick and I went out to lunch and stopped by zachs house on the way back to say our goodbyes! Not much else happened over break, but man was it good to be home!
Stay sweet,
Abby Jane
